How to Create Gift Cards
What is it?
A Shopify gift card is a special type of digital product that you can sell in your store. When purchased, the customer receives a unique digital code via email that they (or a recipient) can use as payment in a future order.Why is it important?
Gift cards are a fantastic way to capture sales from indecisive shoppers, especially during holidays. They are pure profit when sold and can introduce new customers to your brand when received as a gift.How to Create a Gift Card Product:
- From your Shopify admin, navigate to Products > Gift Cards.
- If you've never sold one, click Sell gift cards. This will take you to a new product creation page.
- Customize the Listing: Give it a title (e.g., 'Our Brand Digital Gift Card'), a description, and upload a beautiful, branded image for it.
- Set Denominations: In the 'Denominations' section, enter the values you want to offer (e.g., `25, 50, 100, 200`). Each value you add will become a variant of the gift card product.
- Save and Publish: Save the product. It will now be live in your store for customers to purchase. No inventory tracking is needed as it's a digital product.
