MASTERCLASS
From Text Document to Visual Pitch: The "Paste & Polish" Protocol
The single greatest barrier to creating a compelling pitch deck isn't a lack of ideas—it is the friction of design. Founders often stare at a blank PowerPoint slide, paralyzed by the need to simultaneously structure a narrative, write persuasive copy, and arrange visual elements. This cognitive load results in decks that are either visually poor or narratively weak. The solution lies not in asking AI to write your business plan for you, but in using it strictly as a visualization engine for the strategy you have already documented.
In this masterclass, we explore the "Paste and Polish" workflow using Gamma. This approach reverses the traditional design process. Instead of building slide-by-slide, you will start with a finished, text-based artifact—your business plan, strategy memo, or project brief—written in a distraction-free environment like Notion or Google Docs. By separating the thinking (writing) from the presenting (designing), you ensure the substance of your pitch is solid before a single pixel is placed.
We will technically deconstruct how to feed this raw text into Gamma’s "Paste in text" engine. You will learn to manipulate the AI’s proposed outline to force narrative flow, select themes that align with brand identity without custom coding, and use iterative AI prompting to refine layouts. Crucially, we will address the "Hallucination Hazard"—the tendency of generative tools to invent statistics to fill space—and implement a strict human-in-the-loop validation process to ensure your deck is investor-ready and legally compliant.
