2.4.3 - How to Integrate POD Suppliers with Major Sales Channels (Difficulty: Beginner | Path: Launch)

How to Integrate with Shopify

What is it?

This is the process of connecting your POD provider to your standalone Shopify store using a dedicated app from the Shopify App Store.

Why is it important?

This connection is what enables the full automation of your business, from pushing products to your store to fulfilling orders as they come in.

How to Connect Your POD Provider to Shopify:

  1. Install the POD App: From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > All recommended apps > Shopify App Store. Search for your provider's app (e.g., 'Printful' or 'Printify').
  2. Add and Authorize: Click 'Add app' and follow the prompts. You will be asked to log in to your POD account (or create one) to authorize the connection. This creates the 'bridge'.
  3. Check Shipping Settings: This is a crucial step beginners miss. Most POD apps will try to automatically create shipping profiles for you in Shopify (under Settings > Shipping and delivery). You MUST review these. Ensure they match the shipping prices your provider charges *you*. If you don't, you might accidentally offer free shipping and lose money on every order.
  4. Publish Your First Product: Go to your POD platform, create a product, and click 'Publish' to your Shopify store. It should appear in your Shopify 'Products' section within a few minutes.
