What are Sections and Blocks?
What are they? The theme editor uses a simple two-level hierarchy to build pages. Thinking of it like building a house makes it easy to understand.
- Sections: These are the large, structural components of your page—the 'rooms' of your house. An 'Image with Text' section, a 'Featured Collection' section, or a 'Slideshow' section are all examples. You can add, remove, and reorder these to create the overall flow of the page.
- Blocks: These are the individual pieces of content that live *inside* a section—the 'furniture' in your room. For example, an 'Image with Text' section contains a Heading block, a Text block, and a Button block. You can customize, reorder, and add new blocks within each section to arrange the content.
Why is it important?
This modular 'Section and Block' system is what gives you the power to create custom page layouts with a simple drag-and-drop interface, with no coding required.DijiPilot Academy Access Required
