A Tour of Your Main Navigation Sidebar (Beginner)
The vertical menu on the left is your map to the entire Shopify admin. It organizes every part of your business into clear, logical sections. Think of it as the filing cabinet for your company—everything has its place.
The Core Sections Explained
Here’s a breakdown of the tabs you'll use most often:
-
Core Operations: These are your daily drivers.
- Orders: View, manage, and fulfill all customer purchases.
- Products: Add new items, manage inventory, and organize them into collections.
- Customers: Your customer database. View their history and create segments.
-
Growth & Analysis: Tools to help you scale.
- Analytics: Dive deep into reports on sales, customer behavior, and store performance.
- Marketing: Create and track marketing campaigns and automations.
- Discounts: Set up discount codes and automatic promotions.
-
Storefront & Channels: Manage where and how you sell.
- Online Store: Manage your website's theme, blog posts, pages, and navigation menus.
- Other Sales Channels (e.g., Point of Sale, Facebook): Add and manage other platforms where you sell products.
Beginner's Tip
The sidebar can be customized! You can pin the items you use most frequently to the top for quicker access. Just hover over a menu item, and if a pin icon appears, click it. This is great for keeping 'Products' and 'Orders' always within reach.
